If you’re ever in Aix-en-Provence, check out the restaurant called Pasta Cosy. David and I dined there on Thursday evening. What a meal!
They specialize in tapas in groups of 3, 6, or 9 so we started with 3 appetizers. One was a strong goat cheese with jam (I didn’t like this one); the other two were tomato and polenta and a shrimp dish. The main course for David was a pasta stuffed with carmelized pears and covered with a light gorgonzola sauce. I ordered a gnocci with artichoke cream sauce and had the DUCK on the side (that was for David, since I don’t eat Donald Duck). Dessert was a dark chocolate crisp (David) and a white chocolate crisp (me).
We had house wines,--rose and red--but after dinner, the owner (Fabian) came and poured us complimentary homemade anise liqueur. It was fabulous!
My favorite part of Pasta Cosy—besides the food—is the décor. The place holds only about 6 tables inside, but all the decorations are kitchen gadgets. So the sconces were half-colanders and the pendant lights hanging down over the counter were actually graters! The place is intimate and well…cozy! By the time we left at 10 p.m., all tables were full with the few outside occupied as well.
Our total bill came to 81 euro…completely worth it for such a great meal and experience. Pasta Cosy is #3 on TripAdvisor restaurant ratings for Aix. Check it out!
